Scrappy Christmas Tree Wall Hanging pattern Just choose the grid size you prefer.

(Lisa made the sample with the 2” finished grid and cut 2 ½” squares.   28” x 32” finished wall hanging)

Class Preparations

Depending on the size grid you bought, cut your squares. I like to cut extra to have better options of placement.

2” finished grid- cut 2 ½” squares:           OR              1 1/2” finished grid- cut 2” squares:

128- assorted  colors for tree and border                   128- assorted colors for tree and border

110- assorted  background                                         110- assorted background

Make (variety of colors for tree) 20 half square triangles combinations of tree colors/ background. To make a variety, use 1 square tree fabric and 1 square background fabric to make 1 half-square triangle. Place right sides of squares together, sew on diagonal, trim excess, and open and press toward dark fabric.

Trim 2 grid panels:

1 panel will be full size (14 squares wide x 9 squares high)  trimming the excess interfacing around the edges.

Second panel trim to 14 squares wide x 7 squares high, also trim excess interfacing around edges.
